Out and Travel

If you love weddings, let me see your hands in the air!!!!! Weddings are very wonderful occasions and I love all the glitter that comes with it. I had my second wedding experience ever in my life (officially) and it was amazing.

I don’t like to stay away from weddings but I have my standards and that is looking good. If I ain’t looking good, there is no way I am crossing that wedding. I will send my wishes from a distance. (That’s just me). Weddings can be expensive to prepare for and that’s one thing I love about the wedding I attended during the weekend. The bride told me about it in the month of January and I was actually in the bridal train. So as an entrepreneur still climbing the ladder, I started saving towards it! Omo, the struggle is real.

The wedding made me think for a second what mine will look like, God willing. I have always wanted a wedding reception of few persons close to nature (water and trees) and everyone on white! Vintage thingy kinda…Because it’s my day!

I want few persons in my wedding because I think it’s the marriage that’s more important and what’s the use of getting a hall filled with lots of people who you don’t know or people who don’t even know the first thing about you. I have heard lots of people spend so much in their weddings and go hungry afterwards. It won’t be my portion or yours.

Also, Some ladies and guys that I like to refer to as hunters also come to find a missing and broken rib. Instead of coming to celebrate, they dress to come and hunt. The most annoying part is the amount of jollof rice they will consume in the pretense of sharing your joy.

For the food, I will love a buffet service because the guests will be few and responsible. The rice has to be jollof rice with a touch of creativity. I mean, not the normal style of serving jollof rice. Instead of beers and malts, I will like freshly made juice and cocktails. (I am not asking for too much na). I also want my guests to leave extra healthy.

The music has to tell a story at every point in time and that’s why I won’t go for just any kind of DJ. Very important to me. (Paying attention to little details)

My bridal train will include 3- 5 wonderful and lovely maids and I hope my husband tries to get them cute looking and wonderful guys too.

I caught the bouquet at my friends wedding. It was a real hustle. The flower first went to a guy ( I wonder what he was doing amidst single ladies) and he was made to throw it. He threw it and I ran for it. One bad belle person stepped on me with whatever it was and gave me some serious injury but I didn’t give up. I said to myself …. We must marry sooooooooon! And I did it! My friend was so happy and she is actually looking forward to a wedding.

Dear husband, I have given you a sneak peek into my dream wedding. We have no excuse not to achieve this or even settle for less. I am here praying for you and for me too. Meanwhile, I forgot to mention that our honey moon should be in Tahiti or one of those lovely African countries we see in the movies (they always have weird names).

I must say that I love the gifts I got from my dear friend to the maids. I totally love mine. I love the concept and I am totally adding a touch to it when my turn comes. It’s a pamper box and in it is a scented bath soak, hand soap and  bath lily. (Photo on Instagram)

Wonderfully written Ollie. I used to like large weddings but this piece is the last stroke that has changed my mind for a small and intimate event. After that is the honeymoon; a minimum of two full weeks in one of them beautiful African islands.

I’d want a small wedding of maybe 70-100 people max but it’s now for the wifey to accept. I’ve never really attended an all strictly by invitation low key wedding, but I think it should be fun.
